Kindness is like confetti shower it far and wide!

Can you remember the last time somebody did something nice for you, unprompted? It is always nice to experience something nice from another person. But if you cannot remember the last time someone did something for you, what about being that person for somebody else?

Random acts of kindness rarely cost anything except a little forethought and your time. While pinning the other day I came across a great little infographic describing Random Acts. If you’re not sure where to get started, here are a few suggestions:

  • Pay for somebody’s parking or give them your ticket that hasn’t expired
  • Sit with someone eating alone (ask them first)
  • Leave a nice note or flowers on the windscreen of a car
  • Leave a very generous tip after your meal
  • Donate to a good cause, whatever amount you can afford
  • Run an errand for someone
  • Pick up any rubbish you see and put it in the bin
  • Offer to babysit or pet sit for someone for free
  • Call a loved one you haven’t spoken to in a while
  • Give someone a compliment
  • Bring treats to the office and share them out
  • Donate blood or get a Donor Card
  • Help someone carry their bags
  • Leave a funny note or cash inside your favourite library book
  • Put stray shopping trolleys around the car park back in the bays
  • Let the car in front of you merge or out of the side road
  • Write a letter to someone who inspired you to do something
  • Volunteer at an animal shelter or soup kitchen
  • Give up your seat on public transport
  • Say thank you to someone who does a hard job but rarely gets appreciated
  • Bring food or water to someone in need
  • Cook a meal for someone
  • Donate clothing or books you no longer need
  • Ask someone how they are and really listen to the answer
  • Give encouragement to someone who is working hard
  • Spend a day saying only nice things about (and to) other people.

So tell me, what is your favourite Random Act of Kindness to perform? Did you try any on this list? What was the result? I can’t wait to hear all about it 🙂
